This project's goal is to make e-books more popular amongst the people. We would like to show people that they can buy the paper books in brick shop or over the net, but the can even buy (or sometimes get) books in one of the available electronic form and read it in an electronic device. We can see mainly one kind of e-book readers: PDAs (be it PalmOS a Windows Mobile Professional) and smartphones, based mainly on Symbian and Windows Mobile Standard. Not only here in Czech Republic, those small creatures are best suited for e-books reading.
Currently we are giving almost all our books free of charge. The biggest problem (and of course great disadvantage of us) is fact that each and every published book have to be under copyright law, what keeps us from making some more recent books available for users. That's why we are trying to get as much copyright-friendly texts as possible. You can find those sorts of text here: public domain texts (e.g. law), texts from authors who agree with this kind of publication and also texts which are out of scope of copyright law - very old texts or folklor texts (e.g. traditional fairy tales).
What we really want to achieve is to be able to present users texts newer and more recent - the most usual way is cooperation with brick shops and publishing houses. In such a case even very demanding reader should find many interesting books here.
If talking about project authors, we are two at this moment. The founder of this project is Jiří Vlček, who is also the content manager and master (the only one) editor. As for technical issues (programming, design, errors) you can write to Martin Bodlák. For contact form please use this page.
